Ness is most likely not coming back, even though he doesn't really have anyone who can compare to his moveset. Being in the original game and all other games is a weak argument at this point. Sakurai is only really picking characters based on their having a unique moveset that brings something new to the table, and all of these characters have a counterpart that is simply too similar. Except in ness' case, he's just terrible as a character compared to literally every single cast member we know of right now. Ness would get his ass handed to him way too easily.
After watching the game at best buy, i have complete confidence in #3 unfortunately.
