Gaius's counter is broken. Carried me through the bonus dungeon when I was 50 levels under the average enemy. His aerial game is way too fast with Swallow Fury and that aerial Demon Fang. I don't think any of the characters really match Ludger's overall flexibility, especially with his Link Artes, but all of the non-casters are strong in their own elements. Jude and Milla have a lot of variety in elements and maintain their large repertoire of link artes together. Alvin can break through guards pretty easily with a lot of fast attacks, and he can hit every damage type as well. Leia is just a goddess.
