Sega Wrote:Also, this whole thing makes me straight up call bullpomegranate on the whole "we need more indie devs, indie devs have no power in the industry" that happens day in and day out by almost everyone. These pomegranatestorms could happen at any time, and they are all because indie devs are trying to get their games out there to the public. I'm sure these things happen for all these pomegranatety games that don't have a place in the market. Anyone can make a pomegranate game, and bribe and pineapple their way to having their game well known.
It's not like there's not plenty of pomegranatety games when an indie developer isn't involved. There's plenty of pomegranatety developers in all sides of the spectrum. The difference is that a lot of the recent genre changing/bending/forming games have come from indie developers, while a lot of the "AAA developers" only rehash the same junk (that does NOT mean that there's not some that don't).
If Indie Developers weren't such a possibility now, the only difference would be that Zoe Quinn would be pineappleing her way up some business, and it wouldn't be big news unless she hit the top.
