Some context for how huge kotaku is.
And in comparison with southperry: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/southperry.net
Just because a site is popular doesn't mean it's reputable.
Case in point : http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/dailymail.co.uk
Secun Wrote:Phil Fish's entire schtick is that he makes huge outbursts because 1) he's a huge plantain and 2) he knows it'll get him the attention he craves.
He isn't doing it for attention,at least, not in the sense you're implying. He invented the persona he has online and kept it because it keeps people talking about him and therefore his game. He sold >million(s?) of copies of Fez and is probably one of the richest indie developers in the business. It doesn't matter if you don't like him (You shouldn't, that's the entire point), he doesn't care, the outbursts are all well calculated plots to make sure his name/work appears every few months in the news, despite being in an industry where it's impossible for him to release anything more than once every few years. In an age where there are tens if not hundreds of indie games releasing every week, he made himself rich, despite his game being barely any better than 2d platformer #20654 and it wasn't an accident.
