I think I already said it, but no, it's probably not real.

I mean, it could be I guess, the Japanese version of the game has probably gone gold by now.

But getting paranoid over nonexisting image crossovers is very tinfoilhaty.

edit: And MK8 being good online vs smash are completely different beasts, unfortunately.

MK8 covers it up if your connection drops for a second or so by making predictions on where the other players will have gone and then updates accordingly once you're back, same as MKwii did.

Obviously there's no way in hell they can do that for smash.
