I just don't see the point of making a character who's already in game. It's like making Siegfried from Soulcalibur as a custom character in Soulcalibur.
In the arms of trollahiro sikeurai, probably not. Although you have been severely understating the amount of information that can be gained from them. Not this one specifically, just in general.
You can't dress up as your favorite people or characters as miis if the clothes aren't there. The mii concept fails otherwise (not the fighter in terms of competitive-ness, the concept of "be whoever you want to be"). Thus, the more clothes the better. It has nothing to do with whether the clothes exist in game already. Clothes as we know them are super easy. Most of it is just color swaps and model addition. Actual character specific stuff would probably have to be done from scratch regardless (the smash symbol on samus' costume is obviously not there on her actual suit, as well as the feet and other details). How many character specific costumes are there that they could add that would satisfy everyone? Honestly not many, and yet tons at the same time. You also have to consider that they probably have to get the rights for each costume that isn't related to nintendo's IP which may limit their options.
In the end miis are not samus or meta knight. There is value in adding their costumes for miis even if those costumes can be seen for real in the game itself.

Is there anything besides "he was in brawl" or "i like metaknight" that makes you say this?
I don't really care if he isn't cut, but i'm seriously doubting him making it for reasons above. He just isn't unique enough of a swordsman.
