I'll now answer questions about roles and such, but first:
Role Info
Notes on Dice Rolling Wrote:Results are as follows:
2: "One On One" - Gladiator-esque restriction that voting can only be on you two
3: "Suicide" - Instant death.
4: "Silenced" - Unable to vote today.
5: "Overruled" - Doubles target vote.
6: "Cleared Up" - Undoes any edits to the target's documentation.
7: "Nothing" - Literally nothing happens besides you rolling dice.
8: "Poker Face" - Undoes any edits to the Gambler's documentation.
9: "Overpowering" - Doubles own vote today. (Listen more- not sure if out of respect or fear)
10: "Silencer" - Target is unable to vote today.
11: "Murder" - Kills the target.
12: "Go Right Ahead" - Update/Passerby/Conspiracy Theorist get things a day early.
- Shidoshi's role's intent was to clear up differences between the public vote count and who actually got lynched; the intended result was for answers to reveal that it wasn't a bug and drop the name of a role involved. It's sad that he died so soon, because he was the one that always counted up votes and so he was actually perfect for the role!
- Niernen actually never had to vote for Chaz. "Upon returning home, you made the decision that no matter what happened tomorrow, at the end of the day you'd vote for Chaz. You weren't exactly sure where this decision came from, but it felt like the right thing to do." I don't know why he assumed this was a complete restriction. Also, along Kyrastri's wonderful line of thinking which only Niernen sorta tried to follow (and he wasn't intended to do that), Chaz could attach to Vlad successfully, gaining the ability to end a day earlier than normal (within a certain span of time). That's why his PM had the weird mention of multiple kinds of names being valid.
- Anything VerrKol edited would have been marked as such (as his role PM says). Nothing he edited was ever seen. Editing Alliance changes the win condition (with an error if the Alliance is fake) and editing Role Name can straight up change which role's documentation is displayed as long as you change it to a valid one.
- Polantaris asked about what using Luv's power would mean at some point and I vaguely explained it to leave things sorta open to interpretation, so I might as well explain that here: if Luv died as a result of using his action and then voting, this could apply to Polantaris; if it was something related to the role and not the action, he'd be fine. The truth is the latter, as even if he voted on Day 1, Luv would have died. Of course, the infection would also have just been spread for Luv and not Polantaris regardless, so even in the first case Polantaris probably wouldn't have died after.
My Mistakes
- Shidoshi's documentation was horribly worded, and I'm sad that I wasn't able to clarify his questions about it well enough before he died. There's also a break from flavor as Mas was right- he should have been able to fix his glitched rhyming thing.
- I should have switched CJ and TheBirds' factions. Rather, made TheBirds' role an Intruder and had another Town role. What caused this was me rushing to edit/replace roles that I had come up with right at the start of me brainstorming this and had survived all the way to that point... and then I realized they were pretty impossible to pull off as I couldn't be watching the thread 24/7 or anything like that, and it'd be a bit much to have a ton of mid-day results like Kyrastri's. Another problem was that I was sorta low on ideas for Mafia roles, and so I started focusing brainstorming non-Town ideas on them, and then I knew I wanted a certain number of Intruders and Mafia so I was down an Intruder. Making the role TheBirds had that would have fit both flavor-wise and made two deaths less devastating for the Town, though it never actually mattered, I guess.
- My biggest mistake, that I am extremely hopeful that absolutely no one noticed, was a ~30 second period where VerrKol's documentation had the Mafia's names in it still. I was rushing to post this thanks to being distracted by TI4, and, well, had I not been distracted this issue probably wouldn't have happened, but also had I not been distracted I wouldn't have posted it 15 minutes late when people weren't checking the thread constantly and wouldn't have made the other error (I didn't finish a sentence) I noticed first and started editing the post to remove before I noticed the names, so... Regardless, that was a huge mistake on my part so I'm admitting to it here.
- On Night 3 I didn't note something down that I should've and so when writing results PMs I didn't remember that Luv was disabled, so both he and his target (Polantaris) got results as if Luv had succeeded in infecting him; I sent PMs correcting this as soon as I realized a few minutes later. At least at that point this didn't have a major effect on the game; it would have been a problem if Luv wasn't as trusted at that point and/or if someone else tried to claim they were disabled, of course.
- As Polantaris noted, I did give him the wrong action once, as I hadn't realized that I actually had put one in his documentation. Thankfully he asked and I told him as much.
- I broke my promise and failed to use
.
And Now, I Judge You
- Mafia was pretty disorganized at first; I had to remind them to send things in the first night and if I hadn't extended it for other reasons, they still wouldn't have had them in (in that their PMs came in at 3:01 EST).
- CJ could have saved Holypie but instead just left his Pin on meow from the moment he got it; that's a valid strategy especially as he couldn't have known about Polantaris, but it seemed weird at the time.
- Niernen sorta just gave up and targeted Vlad, and I understand the reasoning (getting disabled would confirm you as townie) but it hurt the Mafia overall. Lucky for him that he didn't try to contain meow on the last night, though.
- Most of you missed Luv straight up saying he was an Intruder before Chaz's PM revealed that faction and their win condition, and continued to suspect him of being mafia-allied; I feel like Holy would've pointed this out had he been around but instead it took CJ to do it, and that's only because he was also an Intruder with that same win condition.
- At some point it seemed that faon's random theory of Kyrastri's roll making everyone a strongman got turned into a totally agreed upon fact. I'm surprised CJ didn't speak up here; it's unlikely that Meta would reveal they got an update, but CJ didn't have much of a reason to hide it. Similarly, I'm surprised that meow wasn't targeted that night; I figured faon actually believed the strongman thing and would have had Olsi target meow as a result.
- Meta at least justified their fake restriction with something that totally fit their flavor but it feels like none of you ever dug into that to see whether they knew who had their voice. You also generally suspected them over Olsi, despite them having equal readings of Town by meow. I was expecting Meta and TheBirds being able to trust each other being used at some point to shut someone's argument down, but it never really happened to that extreme.
