At least you can still use it on the gem to attack during it's invincibility frames, no?

I'm not sure if I've just missed everytime, but I've tried it every day since Shades came out and I've never been able to get it to work on the gem.

Also, Hell Gollux is extremely annoying to solo on a Shade. The only way I can take care of the mobs is to use the bind and freeze the mobs. And while it's on cool down just drop down and attack. Does anyone have an easier way of soloing Hell Gollux on a Shade, without risking death?
