I'm fine with Shulk if it turns out to be him. Xenoblade is obviously an important franchise to Nintendo now since they have kept the name for the second game even though it has no connection to the first. The Monado isn't that generic a sword either.
I like Bayonetta but I personally don't think she would fit in so well with Smash Bros. I wasn't a fan of Snake really and I think I would feel the same about her. But i guess it's something you would have to see first to make a proper decision. I certainly wouldn't be dissapointed if she was added.
This x1000 i still don't know why there are no GS characters in the game. Assist trophies don't count. Though i might have to go for Isaac because of that beard.

sure it's swordsman#999 but they have enough psynergies to move the sword to a secondary plane... plus it may help hasten the development of GS4 if people show interest in the series
