Khaini, I was never on board with your suggestion, because even I was unsure of what information I would receive from investigation, hence the whole flavour cop thing. Having both cops investigate the same target gives an idea of sanity and also (sorry for not mentioning this earlier, it slipped my mind) helps to determine what info we get. I wanted to do this because at the time I had no information and Kyrastri had some strange stuff regarding CJ so I wanted to clarify my own powers before striking off into the unknown. And sanity isn't a matter of trying to trick the other cop, it's receiving the wrong investigative result from the mod, so having both cops investigate the same target is a viable way to check sanity given that the other cop is trustworthy. Apart from this I'm just going to be repeating myself and it really doesn't look like I can convince you, so believe what you will but I had the town's best interests at heart, not some "selfish" goal (I don't even know how a cop can be selfish, because cops win with the town?).
Investigating the same person is far from disastrous, we missed half a night of investigation, but we confirmed that neither cop was insane and that two people visited Olsi (thanks to BTA) which I think is a reasonable basis of trust for Kyra and I. So now we can set off investigating the suspicious or inactive or whoever you guys think might be mafia, with confidence.
One thing to note is that TheBirds likely has a night action otherwise he would have been godkilled long ago. MasPan said that he would smite anyone who was inactive inexplicably, we've seen like one post and no excuses for inactivity, and he hasn't been subbed out so it's not due to life things like cookie (or there are no more subs). A night action being reliably carried out would (possibly) excuse him from godkill.
