Anima is a great type for... pretty much everything.
If you lose in a dungeon you lose everything you found in that dungeon. So basically, you waste energy and got nothing. But if you use a gem you can continue without losing anything.... the main thing though.... is using that gem worth it? You could just use that gem to refill your entire energy gauge... but maybe you found something great in the dungeon.... so you'll have to decide if its worth it.
