I guess the programmers learned from competitive gamers. I've seen a scenario through the highlight reel, where a CPU literally drops a banana peel in front of a human player... Also the rubberbanding, we screamed countless times of "WHERE THE F DID YOU CAME FROM" usually near the finish line.
