The return of Dungeon Fighter Online (OPEN BETA PT. I STARTS MARCH 24TH!).

Words Wrote:I might be interested in this except I never got into it back then so I have a couple questions. First, how does the f2p model work ? pay2win or a more reasonable model? And how grindy is it? The game looks fun but I don't think I would spend that much time in it.

Gameplay-wise it's pretty great. You'll get through the levels with minimal equipment. It beckons back to the old beat-em-up days meet RPG elements.

It's in between for F2P and Pay2Win. You'll need to pay some money for storage space for sure for each character, but it's usually ~$5 for decent storage, and anywhere from $25-$50 if you want to truly invest in a character since you'll have tons of stuff to stash all the time. Avatars actually give power, and sometimes the easiest/quickest way to get that source of power is to buy the set for your character, so it's essentially hats + stats. You can sell the avatars to others for in-game gold if you buy a temporary permit, so you can technically use real money to get in-game money, so you can get better stuff.

As for grindy, it depends on how much you can deal with RNG. If you have bad luck with equipment drops, you'll have a bad time with this game. Most of the best end-game stuff can be very RNG heavy and took people many months to complete a set. The best ways to improve your equipment is giving millions and eventually billions of gold to a lady who may or may not upgrade your equipment. I understand it's a money sink, but RNG can really screw with you here since at the higher levels of upgrades a failure destroys that equipment. It'll also depend on how many people will throw money at the game again. If you don't want to spend money, better be lucky the playerbase aren't going to price gouge you or hoard everything to purposely cause inflation.

But in my opinion though, the overall experience of the gameplay will be heavily influenced by the playerbase and whether they'll be pricing stuff fairly, or utterly fail their Econ 101 and sell at prices that no one but goldbuyers will buy. It'll also help immensely if the game actually gets GMs in the game, and they advertise the game frequently so we can actually get a steady influx of new players instead of a large initial playerbase that slowly bled to death due to Nexon's incompetence and lack of care. Twitch.tv DFO channels pls. IT'LL ALSO BE GREAT IF SERIA SELLS SHOP PERMITS FOR GOLD LIKE IN KOREAN DNF SO YOU CAN SELL YO pomegranate OVERNIGHT WITHOUT PAYING REAL CASH.
