Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced

Nope, not happening.
They couldn't possibly make another significantly new pokemon game in the year since X/Y.

Heck, B2/W2 took a 1.5years from the launch of B/W and those were probably the most phoned in pokemon games in a long time.

Obviously I wouldn't mind being wrong on this, but it's extremely unlikely.

B2W2 were also sequels instead of straight up rehashes to BW like Platinum and Emerald were to D/P and R/S respectively. And there's a guy in X/Y who gives you an item for a region that's not Hoenn.

I think it's still possible.
