The battle system is called the Fusionic Chain-Linear Motion Battle System. I have no details so far, though AbyssalChronicles says it's similar to Graces' (PRAISE DA LAWD). We'll have to see if they showed any specific footage of the battle system, or if the presentation will be uploaded any time soon.
Starting at 1:50 in the above video, we see a bunch of combat.
Mikurio:
昇掃撃 (Shousougeki, lit. Rising Sweep Attack, Leia's Spiral Strike)
Edna:
虹霓（レインボウ） (Rainbow)
From what we can see from the video, the timeline appears to be as such:
Slay & Mikurio investigating Mabinogion Ruins.
Ruins collapse and they find Alisha.
Slay saves her and brings her to Izuchi, tells her about his dream, and the Divine.
Alisha doesn't believe him, brings him out from Izuchi
Go to Lyla's Temple, where Alisha was planning the festival
There's some sort of a revolt there, Slay contracts with Lyla
Afterwards, they go through Vivia Ruins, contracts with Mikurio
They pass by Reifork Mountains and meet Edna who joins them?
It seems Mikurio isn't combat capable until well into the introduction, after Lyla, despite appearing so early. I'd expect much of the intro to be just Slay + Alisha fighting, since the Divine are a) invisible to her and b) not contracted. Timeline seems a bit odd with how the characters were introduced, and the geography. It was noted that Reifork, where Edna lives, is in the same mountain range as Lakepillow Plateau and Izuchi. They either meet her first and bring her to Ladylake, or they go to Reifork afterwards.
We're looking at only six characters, which is a bit disappointing. Hoping for maybe hax light and dark Divines to appear, MAYBE SOME FOR ALISHA?!? She seems pretty pure hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
