Don't know where you heard that from. With two mini-gravities, a regular gravity, the best delayer in the game, and two skill boosts, your bread-and-butter Sakuya team is still good for the newer dungeons. If you are worried about surviving, replace Hera-Is with Izanami.
I've been able to use the team to clear every single non-cost restricted, Descended up till now. Except for Takeminakata of course. And Twinlits and Trifruits, but those are much more easily done with Zeus and Satan/Hera-Ur respectively, which are both easily gotten with Sakuya.
If you do plan to make the Physical Sakuya team, I think the consensus going around is that it's built of:
Sakuya/Apollo/Jade Oracle, Parvati/King Bubblie/Keeper of the Sacred Texts, Metatron/Sakuya friend.
Swap in Takeminakata, War Deity Odin, Valkyrie, Thor, Great Tengu, and Angelion where needed/using as a replacement/you're too poor for REM.
