Someone counted the frames for a full fox double jump and compared them to melee/brawl/project M.

Total frames (brackets indicate amount of frames right before landing animation):
Brawl = 53 (50)
Smash 4 = 45 (43)
Project M = 39 (37)
Melee = 39 (37)

Hmm. This probably isn't so bad as it might suggest because the hitstun in this game is going to be so so so much higher than all of those games that a 7 frame disadvantage will be compensated for. Up throw up air can still very easily be a thing.

The real thing that we need to find out is if shields are as OP of an option as they were in brawl which won't happen until the game comes out. I really hope not since it seems to be a toss up between which mechanics are brought from brawl and which are from melee. We do seem to have the ability to sweetspot ledges, which is a great choice now that we have those new ledge mechanics as well.
