How was your day today? - DotA 2 Edition

Have you ever had a game where you're just sort of there as a support like "I'M HELPING." but feel sort of useless?

I had one of those yesterday when I played as Treant. http://dotabuff.com/matches/608633392 My team just utterly stomped. All I really did was ulti, use my slow, and heal when we pushed.

I've also been playing Earth Spirit lately, but I don't really get how to use his ult effectively. I understand the concept of his other skills fine, where you can drop a rock then pull it back and either whack it to stun or to roll into the enemy for a slow. You can also whack your allies towards the other team or pull them away. I get it. But the ult I just have no real idea what to do with.

Treant isn't a support with a lot of direct impact, it's very indirect through heals and shields although he can be devastating at level 1-3 with leech seed ganks early on.

Also earth spirit is pretty hard to get down properly, but generally you'll want to use your ulti whenever it can hit more than 2 targets and then fire some remnants after them or drag remnants through them since it refrehses the ulti.
