It isn't completely outlandish to consider the possibility of missing a target with such a skill. If you consider the concept of killing something in a single hit, you should consider where such a shot would be required to be placed to achieve this. Instead of missing though, normal damage would be fine, since it isn't realistic to sever the brainstem of a Maple monster.
