We are 8 days into Q2, that is hardly "the middle". MapleStory 2 is shown as sometime in the middle of the second half, which means it can't possibly be in the next 1-3 months, as those only bring us a week into Q3.
As for how much is known about the game before its release: that is Nexon's marketing decision. They might decide to post the whole story and gameplay videos, or they might decide to keep it all secret until the very day of release. We'll just have to wait patiently and see.
