Here, I guess, though, somewhat ambiguously?

The people from the past called the world they lived in, Maple World. They also lived in places all around called 'Henesys', 'Ellinia', 'Perion', and 'Kerning City'.

Although this past has been completely forgotten, the town names are still used today.

It doesn't exactly say that the towns aren't the same, but the implication is heavy.

Part of it is probably just speculation based on how most of Victoria Island was unsettled, as far as we know, after the battle with the Black Mage (the towns didn't exist there), and MS2 is supposed to take place before that.
