secondly, naruto vs sasuke are supposed to be this generations hashirama vs madara. if the six-paths sons are reincarnate into naruto vs madara, that alludes to sasuke somehow absorbing madara's essence/will, (steal his eyes yes!) and would actually make for a nice following arc to this current epic arc. its kinda drawing out a long while, and most people see it as being the end.
p.s. for naruto to actually GET hokage, how many ppl have to die now? tsunade has to "die again", kakashi has to "die again" too, and shikamaru, who took over the alliance and has amazing leadership capability, has to pass on the position. an interesting anecdote would be shikamaru becoming 'hardened' due to azuma's (and others) deaths; maybe chogi, for the sake of plot; and fulfilling the empty danzo successor spot - "i will do anything for the sake of the leaf" juxtaposed naruto's eventual hokage position. re-include sasuke, as head of the ninja police, rebirthing the uchiha clan (with karin's uzumaki blood huehuehue) and naruto sakura, cuz what anime "history repeats" trope doesnt have the main character marrying someone exactly like his mom?
ramble over. comments
my only comment: you don't need to have kakashi and tsunade be dead for there to be another hokage. Look at what happened with the 3rd and 4th.
Shikamaru would probably pass on the role, instead wanting to be an advisor to the hokage. I can honestly not see Naruto accepting the role after everything that happened, and it being a learning/maturing point imo. (Naruto, as a child, desired the "ultimate goal" in his limited world-view. Now as an adult, he'll see the hardships, and instead want higher goals for himself. I'd say I can see him trying to become a "ninkage," or like a kind of general protector of all the ninja villages, or just deciding that someone better than him would take the role and do better than he would.)
