but it's not a bug, it's a feature. I think a game with actual permadeath would be fun, personally, as long as pvp wasn't a thing; people would actually cling together and work as a team because they would be forced to; pvp being a thing really did completely ruin that game and because of it the entire show, all it did was make everything needlessly grimdark with a feeling that there was zero chance of escape, along with giving an idea of "zomg guys killing ppl is so kewl".
If it wasn't just limited to the amount of people SAO was, there would be less chance that the amount of people would be culled down to a level where endgame content would be unclearable because everyone was already dead. Most people would probably still be useless in a situation like that, but with a greater population there will be more of the minority with no regard for the value of their own lives. Not to say I would be willing to risk my life just to have fun in this world, if such a situation even exists, but, being a demi-superhuman changes things even if your opponents are the same or greater.
