239 people presumed dead by plane crash from Malaysia

I honestly believe it was something as simple as a mechanical failure that resulted in an extreme change of pressure. I'm also in agreement with SaptaZapta;, we have the NSA and satellite images of almost every square foot of the world, and it suddenly cuts off just as they were turning around? I feel like they should be, if not already investigating the area that these images clearly point too.

just a bit of info i know, do with it what you will.

the US has 24 satellites that are used to conform the GPS system, wether they have more for spying i don't know, but as far as my training goes, it's 24 satellites just for GPS, even if they were recording the surface of the world the chances they were looking at that very specific quadrant is very slim.

radars have a lot of faults, if a plane's transponder shuts off (or is shut off) they'll display on the radar as nothing more than a little dot, radars also have a maximum range and only apply over a certain height due to earth curvature/mountains/etc, so a plane flying low enough would not appear on the radar, and if it had the transponder off even if it appeared, it wouldn't be possible to define which plane it was. granted, i'm talking LOW here, as in 1200-/700-ft low at worst

so depending on how the GPS system works it is very possible that they weren't being recorded. but for that you'd need an expert in GPS satellite functions, assumming it didn't record their position and just gave it to them (and anyone else flying), or they turned it off (highly unlikely, since it's so massively useful for flying, although i don't know how flying over water works) it's very possible for them to have slipped away from radar and off into the sea unnoticed, or at least, without being distinguished as malasya flight XXX

that's a lot of satellites, whart they're up to though i don't know and i'm not one to wear a tinfoil hat often.
