There's too much immaturity and stupidity going on for me to stay interested, that stuff instantly kills my interest of just about anything.
The fact that they think they can "prove their point" by reversing everything the other mode does just further escalates the pointlessness of everything going on here.
I'm sure the guy who started this has all the research he needs to do whatever he wanted to do with it (I doubt this came unprovoked). This Anarchy vs Democracy crap can write a few papers by itself.
At the same time the insanity that ensued showed in a controlled harmless environment what giving change can do to people/community. As listed on TVTropes: "If you want to make enemies, try to change something." - Woodrow Wilson
Also, it's rare for something so seemingly meaningless, as you probably view it, could produce such a community and give meaning to non-sentient beings in ways one wouldn't have ever imagined. It's even better considering Pokemon Red/Blue has been around for over 15 years and this one idea, a new way of playing the same old game, has created something that the whole internet couldn't simply ignore. This will pave the way for something in the future. What? I don't know, but it's going to be interesting for sure.
