How many of them require the gamepad in such a way thats critical to the gameplay? From the rumors I've been hearing, not even Nintendo has been able to come up with a suitable use for the thing. I'm sure that a patch for it isn't coming anytime soon, and I wouldn't expect it to; But, this being the world of videogame consoles in which everything eventually gets cracked, jailbroken, modded or otherwise: I'm sure that eventually, possibly several years down the road, there will be a way to play Wii U titles with a standard controller (and especially so given the circumstances of its predecessor in this regard).

I've heard that one of Nintendo's upcoming titles, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, goes so far as to turn the screen on the gamepad off while the game is playing. No, really. With that sort of dedication, I wouldn't be surprised.
