For unique > legendary it seems like black > red = meister to me, where both red and meister are absolutely awful. I cubed my emblem from epic > unique in about 10 black cubes, but everything else I've used a unique potential scroll on, so I dunno about rare > epic or epic > unique really. I've not tried ranking anything up using craftsman cubes either.
I am curious to see if miracle time will affect meister/master cubes, since it didn't work on occult cubes.
