I feel for you guys that lost your items due to Nexon's blunders... Wished they could've done a bit more digging to find out where the items really came from. Instead, they just took the easy way out on following a ridiculous set criteria. From the way they do things, they're really discouraging their legitimate players from spending money to upgrade their characters. I quit splurging on NX a long time ago, but it's instances like these that I'm glad I don't anymore.

I confirmed with the Games Master team and in addition to the duped item investigation to removed hacked AEEs and other items in players inventories they also carried out an investigation into illegitimately upgraded items.

This means 15 star Tyrants and other items that were scrolled using hacked scrolls.

In terms of investigation the game team looked at the stats on a weapon prior to the item duplication hack and then the stats on it afterwards before digging into accounts in more detail to find out how many scrolls a player used and where they came from.

This investigation only covered the period of the hack 12/31 - 1/2 - So only items that were upgraded rapidly in this period were included.

Out of those items they then eliminated those that had less than 10 scrolling attempts. Finally they looked at what type of scrolls were used.

If a player met all these criteria the GMs investigated further and deleted the item if they found it to be illegitimate.

So to reiterate requirements to even get investigated:

-Happened to upgrade a high level item between 12/31 - 1/2
-Used over 10 No Boom AEE scrolls on the item (10 Billion mesos roughly pre-exploit)

Anyone with under 10 upgrades in that period was given the benefit of the doubt as a precaution.

Some of these players used over 1,000 scrolls on one account in that three day period to upgrade items.

In total these upgrades covered some 63,000 hacked No Boom AEE scrolls. That is what we would have left in the game if these items were not deleted.

Based on the above criteria they also happened to upgrade their items during a known hack, using at least a billion mesos worth of items which definitely stretches the odds of a freak accident.

I'm not in a position to say if an individual is guilty or not but i wanted to make players aware of the action taken and the sheer number of hacked scrolls some of these players used.
