There's like, 5 bearable stages in melee, 6 including hyrule for non-tourny. There's less stages in brawl excluding counter pick stages which are matchup specific. Project melee has 21 good stages used in tourny. And by good i mean fair.
It's just a preference. Most of the stages are geared toward tourneys and competitive play, but I'd just like to see more 'fun' stages. My best friend and I are really damn good at the game, but we just have more fun in the gimmicky stages than Final Destination or Battlefield.
