Good balance isn't nerfing whatever is currently winning, i'm also fine with removing OTKs since there is no interaction during your opponents turn.
But blizzard hasn't buffed any pineappleing thing, they just nerf whatever is currently staple.
To quote someone else:
Not to mention blizzard still hasn't figured out that the problem with mages wasn't freeze or pyroblast, it's ice block.
Hell the novice engineer is probably the most sensible of all the nerfs because it's such a great way to cycle through your deck at zero risk at all.

Quote:I think in general Blizzard has been too heavy-handed too quickly when changing cards as opposed to the traditional CCG approach where balance changes largely coincide with new set releases. Obviously there are advantages to being able to patch immediately, and it's one that Blizzard should use where it's appropriate for something that's become truly problematic, but they've overused it, IMO. They're not just nerfing lynchpin cards in problematic decks, but also nerfing high-value common staples.
The existence of staple cards is not a problem. It's a reality of how CCG's work, and its good for your customer because giving them a small base of cards they know they can get a lot of mileage out of means they won't feel like the game is too "pay-to-win".
