I did the Crimsonheart line all the way up to the point of needing to do the PQ. Do we HAVE to do that friggin' PQ to move on to Tynerum? I don't know why, but I can now go through the center door in Path to the Altar. I thought this door wouldn't open unless I did the PQ, but I seem to be able to. I have a guildie who has only two quests left - 1) Kill the dudes in the Party Play area and 2) Castle PQ. He still cannot go through the door. I am just trying to sort out the sequence of what I actually must do to get through to the next area and any explanations would be appreciated.
You only have to do the questline up until the point where all of the demon children are gone from the room. Then you go kill red nirg, and a quest will show up in the lightbulb called "demon invitation". That is the beginning of the gollux questline. If you are doing the quest to kill the fat red and blue dudes, you're doing unnecessary work. You do not need to do that quest at all.
