So anyway, here's someone who actually upgraded their Swingwater/Sweetwater stuff

It just gets all the stats from the original item, the upgrade item, above its average stats, overriding whatever above average stats your Sweetwater item has.

Oh, and in case you were thinking of just passing on the potential rank of an item, you must have exhausted all slots on your upgrade item before you can use it as an upgrade item, so it's all or nothing, basically.

Also it costs 10 Commerci Gold (Commerci Denaro?) to upgrade, and there's a possibility of failure. Both items will be preserved on failure, but if it succeeds, again, your original item, the one whose stats you'll be using to upgrade the Sweetwater item, will be destroyed.
