The cubes are apparently dropped from bosses (i believe easy magnus has been confirmed?) and sometimes drop from the super herb/stones that now float around the world. The only issue I have with crafting the cubes is that the ingredients are neigh impossible to find without spending days of your time to get one cube. ONE. Not to mention you need cube fragments, which you also get from boss monsters at an incredibly low drop rate AND the fact that you have to get to level 11/12 crafting and maintain that status. NX-cubes are basically just convenience factor now instead of necessity. Want to spend days tryin to make 1-2 cubes or 10 minutes getting a package of 11 from the CS?
Actually, cube fragments are the easiest material there is to get. They drop from everything near 100% of the time. I don't even think i'll use all of mine if i ever craft cubes which is probably never.
