Pretty damn hard to transition unless you're filthy rich with a plethora of equips or you're a mage or sword hero/paladin.
It almost sounds like they're trying to find a new way to get money out of people without increasing the power creep even further.
Should be happy that they added this, really everyone who still plays should be. It means that people will spend money on 2x or even 3x the gear for one character. It increases the income for Nexon without increasing the ridiculous power gap, because that's 2-3x the gear that's required in existence, which means more revenue in cubes from anyone who wants to take advantage of this system.
You might not have any interest in partaking of this system yourself, however when you look at the bigger representation of this, it's actually a very, very good move.
Unless...of course...they severely limit the usage of this system. At which point they're wasting everyone's time.
