I just value my ability to switch classes when I feel like it over being marginally more powerful. And it pays off... I'm gonna be able to re-equip my Paladin for the revamp completely free.
And like i have said, free job system helps a little bit with the issue.
Besides, you don't have to bother cubing it because it uses potential rank from something else. Just buy a legendary item and use free cubes from RED shop or from future free cubes.
