Actually Celes is more badass than Sabin.
If just before the second portion of the game you train her up to lvl 99 using the Chimera forest, (take her there alone,) all the characters you will meet in the second part of the game will be lvl 99 as well. However, their attack strength will be $hit because they got there through the equal-lvl technique.
Gogo is also more badass than Sabin because he can replicate all his moves, all while mimicking any other move, (including 1-per-battle-techniques,) and combining the strengths of various characters.
I was obsessed with Final Fantasy 6 to the point where I figured out really weird tricks, including how to beat Chupon in the Arena nearly 100% of the time. Atma Weapon sword, Offering, and Black Belt, (it's been several years, but I think that's the trick.) You hit 4 times for 99,999, and each time you are physically attacked you retaliate for 4 hits of 99,999. Kefka gets whacked within like 2 minutes if you do it right.
