First, it's entirely possible to do 300 damage per turn with little effort in sticker star, with a sticker you can easily get multiple copies of (something like infinite jump), or the thing stickers that are bsically guarenteed one hit kills. Not that you had any reason to stay in fights, because you don't get any reward for doing it.
And Woopdeedoo, there were a couple of badge combinations that made mario ridiculously strong. The clear differences between that and the pomegranatety sticker system are
A) you get to choose if you do that, and
B) that doesn't actually change the battle system at all.
I actually can't think of many jrpgs where you can't horribly break the battle system in some sense to make the enemies hilariously weak compared to you.
I never played sticker star(people recommended for me not to buy it).
Im just pointing out that it isnt perfect, and to be honest, even if i didnt get 50 badges for danger mario, one charge badge alone makes the game very easy. You basically have to put on slow go and double pain for there to be a semblance of difficulty. All im saying is the system isnt perfect.
That doesnt change the fact that TTYD was an amazing game. lol. It is definitely my favorite mario RPG. Definitely one of my favorite RPGs ever.
