So many rape/hentai jokes can be made from these two episodes. WE NOW HAVE FACE HUGGER PLANTS! THIS IS TOTALLY NOT A SUBTLE RAPE JOKE.

OH SNAP THE BLACK VINES WERE ALL DISCORD'S DOING BEFORE HE GOT TURNED TO STONE. HE KNEW ALL ALONG. AND IT NICELY WRAPS UP THE EVENTS OF BOTH EPISODES.

While the battle between Nightmare Moon and Celestia was much shorter than expected, in a way we already know who's going to win, so I guess they didn't want to spend more time than necessary to prolong the inevitable. Also nicely shows why Discord was in such a happy mood when he was turned to stone (he was laughing at the idea he can be defeated). Who knew that all the events caused in the two episodes were a final act from Discord thousands of years back.

Overall: 9002/10. Best season opening in my opinion. But may not show to new fans since there's loads of callbacks.
