Does Volt Tackle not carry over unless you keep having the parent Pikachu hold a Light Orb?

If so, that's gonna be a pain ._. cause that means I won't be able to do the usual Everstone + Destiny Knot

Here I thought breeding Pikachus was hard enough as it is (with having to evolve each Pichu before sticking them back into the daycare), now there's this! Dx

you could try the "exploit" to find/guarantee the IVs, but you wouldn't necessarily get the nature unfortunately >.O
