Second of all, even in melee, clones are completely different characters. Trying to tell anyone who knows anything about the game that fox and falco, cpt falcon and ganon, or link and young link are the same in anything other than visual terms will only result in them laughing in your face.
Clones are only justified as a useable term if you're arguing about the time, money available, or laziness of the developers to make melee higher quality.
what alloy said, i'm not saying theyre virtual clones, just that they're similar like ken and ryu. on that vein, having two characters wearing a 2 hander in one hand is entirely plausible because they could make them similar in such way, or even a whole new movepool
