Getting to level 50 or 60 and getting 1 million mesos was insane and took tons of grinding. If you would have told me I'd be playing a level 15x Bishop, with equips worth a couple billion mesos, doing 700k damage on a good day I'd laugh at you all the way to the next map. Yes, killing Mushmom is no longer a big deal, so I can see how someone could argue that high level content is now the equivalent of defeating Balrog or Crimson Balrog was in 2005-2007. But, unlike most of the high level content now there was literally no way for the majority of players to get there. So, the question becomes how different is it now? I suppose the fact that you have to spend money to get there, whereas before you just had to essentially live on the game, is the difference. I don't think either is worse than the other, but it at least emphasizes how there really have never been a "good ol' days" in MapleStory.
How many people are wanting the "2005-2007" MapleStory though? Most of the "glory days" occurred after 4th job came out.
Yeah, a lot of people complained about mage ultimates back then, but they were balanced by the fact that for archmages they cost 6800 mp at skill level 20 or 6000 mp at max level; and for bishops, 3500 mp, but significantly weaker in power.
