Zakum needed large groups cause funding didn't matter all that much, being high-level was the main source of good range, and it used to be hard to grind to high levels. HT and White Scrolls were the beginning of 'some players are better off than others' for me. 7x10% weapons and gloves conferred an advantage over the more usual 60% scrolling.
Hmm. I would say there's a link between being strong and being able to survive zakum - when training and bossing were both 2-3hkos and 10% took several hours to gain, if you didn't survive you didn't get stronger.
And all the business about "warriors have high hp/def" is meaningless at Gollux, who almost exclusively does 50%/100% hp attacks, ignoring all defensive skills. Every class is a 2hko.
