Not sure if it's already been done, but it'd be cool if they made a boss that's like ... say, a labyrinth. That is to say, the boss itself IS the labyrinth. There's an HP bar at the top and everything. You could say that an angry spirit is trapped in its walls or something; I don't care.
To lower its HP, you have to go through different rooms of the labyrinth, in a party or alone; it doesn't matter which. You could specifiy a solo option or a party option (because options are good things, Nexon. Forcing people to party in a game that's arguably dying is stupid), and you could even change the difficulty as you saw fit. Each room would be akin to a room from the classic Ludibrium Party Quest, except it would be fun instead of tedious. Like ... a room full of monsters and you have to keep killing until you get a consecutive hit score (ala aran's combo) of 200 or more. Higher difficulty modes would simply up the counter; this way one couldn't just pay their way to the top. There would be obstacles in the way of reaching the next group of monsters, obviously, to create a kind of thrill. I don't know -- I'm just throwing ideas out there. The main takeaway from this is that the boss is defeated in segments, none of which involve actively attacking a single entity known as "the boss," because that's tedious and we've all seen it ten thousand times already. There would be a random number of rooms each time, but the maximum would be ten. Each room gives a prize coin, so even if you fail it's not like you've wasted your time, and five of those coins can be traded for a prize box.
Prizes would include all the decent gachapon pomegranate they've kept unjustly horded all these years. Elemental weapons, beautiful chairs, dark scrolls that aren't garbage, maybe even a gachapon ticket or a hair coupon or a shop permit as a prize, too. pomegranate people actually WANT. A way for players without NX to get some enjoyment out of this game. The catch would be a daily limit on the "boss"; once every 12 hours, or once every 24, or maybe it would just reset at midnight. It doesn't matter; this is all hypothetical anyway. They'll never do anything that doesn't force people to spend more money on better DPS/M, and they'll never give away cash shop prizes as a reward for playing the game.
