The fatal flaw with the current business model.
Savage Wrote:Sadly, if you look on sites other than Southperry, players are far less eloquent than they are here. Discussions on Southperry are intelligent and mature, but sadly sites like the official GMS forums are a mess of illiteracy, immaturity, and complaining. Although Nexon does visit Southperry, having that sort of behavior in your own backyard could explain the hesitation on their part.

Games will always come with a portion of the population being less than desireable. And the drawback to the game being run by a profit-driven company is that those players may or may not spend money on the game, so you can't be too strict on them. Most of the moderator actions are just post edits/deletes and topic closings, with warnings and banhammers saved for the most serious of offenders. On a fan site that's actively moderated and watched over, while the rules might actually be relaxed in general, there's also no hesitation to banning stupidity because the fan site loses nothing by removing some rich spoiled brat from the forums.

Still, an important part of running a game is allowing more intelligent users weigh in so they can help improve it. And while we know Nexon sees us here in Southperry, unfortunately we're just a minority, and having an anti-pay2achieve mindset (like that mention of bossing and how you can only pay cash for RA equips, whereas actually beating Chaos RA bosses just drops 16K mesos) probably gets our opinions nullified since it goes against Nexon's business model.
