Spoiler
So Season 3 is my first season of ranked League of Legends play; at around 500 normal wins I felt I was somewhat ready for ranked. Went 8/2 in placement matches and got placed into Bronze I. Went on to steamroll through Bronze I, Silver V, IV, and III in about two days up until my second promotion series match into Silver II. Lost that first promotion series to two consecutive instances of someone on the enemy team either outright admitting to being or having very suspicious resemblance to an elobooster (20+ game win streaks with the same champion in a short amount of time, blablabla). Was saddened for a bit but thought "hey, what the hell I'll just get through another promotion series like nothing." Four months pass and disappointment after disappointment would follow in the wake of ranked games thrown due to teammates following bad decisions, uncooperative teams in general, elitist-gold-players-in-silver-elo-due-to-my-MMR-being-inflated-because-outside-of-the-last-two-games-of-promotion-series-I-would-never-lose-a-game-who-would-afk-after-any-silver-scrub-gave-them-flac-about-not-ending-the-game-by-attacking-a-bare-nexus-when-it-was-three-hits-from-death-and-instead-walking-away-from-the-enemy-base-with-full-health; all stereotypical excuses of "I'm stuck in elo hell wahhhh" applied to actual scenarios of moronic bullshit that would literally only occur during the last two games of my promotion series. I play support almost exclusively, to complement my ADC main duo partner, who is now platinum (he started off the season in Silver I, and the aforementioned initial win streak brought him up to Gold II); since I am accustomed to what goes on in those higher leveled playing grounds I would try my best to (as politely as possible) point out mistakes or try and lead the team in what to do next. Unfortunately no one seemed to give even a single pomegranate about anything but their K/D [Assists are omitted because they might as well not exist in the eyes of these people] and would resort to the "noob support" etc. scapegoat excuses for their...suboptimal performance, thus resulting in a loss but hey at least they didn't have to play the role of the team's peach (while I silently was crushed inside to see people with such malicious intent sprouting from their refusal to acknowledge themselves as anything less than God's gift to League of Legends). Sixteen repetitions of the following cycle: Promotion series -> win game 1 -> lose next two games (brought down to 60 LP) -> stomp through next two/three games -> promotion series; I finally have some kind of epiphany: "I am so tired of this, I know I am better than Silver III, what can I do that is absolutely fool-proof and can carry even the most braindead uncooperative assholes in existence." So I dropped my usual support lineup of Nami, Thresh, and Lulu and opted for Sona. I started playing Sona about five days ago. I am now in my promotion series to Gold after a 17 game win streak. Actually, I am currently 1-2 in my gold promotion series. The two losses were to two consecutive instances of someone on the enemy team either outright admitting to being or having very suspicious resemblance to an elobooster. "It's near the end of the season :X/I told my friend I would help him out and I'm a man of my word./I'm sorry you had to queue up against me/if you want we can duo for the rest of your promos. :X" pineapple YOU. If all had gone well I probably could have shot for Platinum this season. Gold is where I will draw the line for resisting the creation of thoughts genuinely harmful to my already unstable mental health.
tl;dr eloboosters can find a special place in hell, usually reserved for the masterminds behind ponzi schemes and mass ritual suicides, ask them for an open spot, and be denied to the confines of the unholy eternal resting place of everyone from the cast of The Bad Girls' Club and The Real Housewives series
