It isn't really a marketing ploy (or at least, not a successful one) because not only are they not outsmarting the people they're trying to sell product to (NX in general, though this topic refers specifically to philo books, gach, etc) as shown through multiple observations, they aren't going through any extra efforts than they normally would to sell those specific products or even NX as a whole. They aren't exploiting the situation by advertising more to manipulate people into buying boss drops. It's business as usual. Business just so happens to include a bit of a higher form of ignorance is all.
