The right way of getting stronger shouldn't be determined by how lucky you are at gambling your items for power. Should be guaranteed but requires a reasonable amount of effort/time.
Imagine if in LoL you can get an Ultra Trinity Force that will make any carry one shot everyone else in that game (even tanks) because it's that powerful, but you need to upgrade the regular Trinity Force to a Super, and then to an Ultra. There's only a 25% chance you can upgrade from a regular Trinity Force to a Super Trinity Force, and then you only have a 10% chance to upgrade to an Ultra Trinity Force. And each time, there's a chance the Trinity Force will be destroyed. Yeah, getting stronger in DFO was like that. People have poured billions of gold into Kiri for power, but ultimately in the end they were gambling their gear away.
Better comparison, it's like using Enhancement Scrolls on your gear, but DFO style. Kiri was Enhancement Scrolls personified, except the power boost got higher and higher.

Kiri's Machine was Maplestory's Enhancement Scroll system except it used money to fuel it; DFO merely borrowed the idea and made it their own. DAMN YOU MAPLE!
[COLOR="#0000FF"]Well my highest was like level 63 out of 70. Even with limited gear you can get through most of the game, at least I had an easy time. I had a plus 7 totem and some standard avatars bought from the shop, but clearing dungeons alone wasn't that bad. Ancient dungeons were pretty hard, but you could go in parties and slowly try to upgrade your stuff. Imo the way dfo did it made it so you didn't need to have everything upgraded out the ass to enjoy it, since half the fun is also combos. ./monk point of view
Upgrading stuff wasn't cheap if you wanted full +13s, but it was pretty accessible to everyone, and +7's could suffice for awhile, couldn't they? [/COLOR]
