What really kept me going was the prospect of meeting new and interesting people (which I have), and to somehow redeem my maple career for all the things I regret missing after Big Bang hit. I was never a part of any bossing squad, I have yet to GPQ (in general), and I was only ran CWKPQ after the bosses became a joke due to power creep. Though through my adventures in one of those 1/1/1 "nostalgia" pservers, I was able to zak with a tight squad and it felt pretty great.
I really like the concept of character growth through farming, as that's pretty much how every RPG should go. What ticks me off with maple is that you get so little out of farming for an obscene amount of time. You constantly have to stick to this game through all the events just to stockpile all the shiny things Nexon baits you with, and to keep up with all the latest hot and game-breaking gear. It really never ends.
Reading the recent explosion of negative feedback here is really helping me realize how much maple isn't worth the time I pour in. Boy, am I glad I was addicted enough to maple that I started browsing Southperry........ wait.
