Why do we play Maplestory?

I used to play GMS because of the people I met in the game, but as time went by (pretty much when the unleashed patch) everyone decided to "take a break" or quit completely. I'd have kept going on my Kaiser to reach the top ranked for the job, and maybe even the server if damage didn't play such a huge role in post 200 leveling. How was I supposed to compete with people with ranges in the millions when I had ~140k with all my buffs? I couldn't. After realizing that I was severely outclassed by everyone with the same goal as me I decided enough is enough and it was time to wrap it up and find a way to say goodbye to my "hard" work.
