I would just compare it to selling/buying NX. It's illegal, but nobody's going to find out and punish you if you do it unless you go out of your way to let it be known.
You can only really sell to someone you really trust. An account exchange would be just like selling NX: someone has to go first, and there's always a risk of getting scammed (probably via paypal, which also has the risk of chargeback). You would obviously have to give email info (or change the email to a new one). An alternative is using a middle man that both you and the buyer trust to hold the account info until after the financial transaction is made (even then, there's a risk of charge back with paypal).
As an aside: I feel the opposite of you. I have this weird attachment to my account/character. Too much time and too many memories were created over the years with the character. Strictly from a loss/gain standpoint, I wouldn't sell it solely because the amount you sell it for probably will not equal the value of the time you spent playing the game. Besides that, there's also sentimental reasons like I don't want someone being able to suddenly buy up the achievements of the character that I achieved and I made memories with for a few hundred or thousand bucks.
